The City of Grayson directly operates 5 departments to provide safety, security and basic public works to the citizens, businesses, visitors and property owners of our community. In addition to the day-to-day operations of our departments, Grayson has several boards and commissions that specialize in providing Grayson with behind-the-scene functions and services making life better for everyone connected to our town.

Grayson is classified as a 4th class city. Under statute, Kentucky cities are classified by population on a scale of 1-6, with 1 being the largest. Our most recent population estimate was about 4,300 in 2010. The city council meets the second (2nd) Tuesday of each month at 5pm in City Hall. Citizen attendance is not only welcomed, but encouraged to promote healthy government through community involvement.
